•    Do you understand the Men’s beauty market in Asia and can effectively address their needs, leveraging internal resources and your own acumen?

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Men’s understanding: You are an expert on the Asian Men’s consumer’s beauty needs and preferably already have worked on a Men’s brand/proposition for China market.
  • Brandholder: Responsible for developing and maintaining the new brand’s equity and philosophy; as well as brand-building globally in key markets.
  • People leadership: Lead a team of 6 based in Tokyo to deliver a brand proposition end-to-end and work with teams across R&D, Shanghai and agencies to launch new men’s proposition for Asian consumers.
  • Project Management: Ensure launch timing of new proposition, by working with multiple stakeholders in product development, consumer research, packaging, execution teams in Asian markets, agencies and HQ.
  • End-to-end responsibility: Take PL responsibility of the proposition incl. developing the business plan and PL, tracking each element of launch and ensuring on-time, in-full delivery within specified parameters; as well as future new product development.
  • Manage leadership: Manage updates and approvals with leadership team within Shiseido for your launch.

 

 Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of brand management with PL responsibility, incl. having worked across a couple of brand-product delivery cycles from brand conception to product development to marketing campaign execution.
  • High familiarity with and expertise on the Chinese market esp. the Gen-Z men. Having worked in China and Mandarin fluency is a big plus.
  • Ability to manage, lead and inspire a diverse team across geographies, incl. influencing management decisions.
  • A high sense of ownership and delivery, with bias towards action and quicker turnaround.
  • This role is based in Tokyo and requires business-level fluency in English. Japanese language ability is a plus but not required.
