Roles & Responsibilities

 

The Shiseido Group has established the Digital Transformation Office (DTO) in headquarter (HQ) Tokyo, Japan. 
The DTO’s mission is to transform and accelerate Shiseido on its journey to become a digital business and will oversee the enterprise-wide strategy across beauty tech, consumer engagement, data management, ecommerce and digital marketing. The DTO’s mission is to put data in the heart of our marketing and technology development. Shiseido will become “No.1 data driven beauty powerhouse” creating the next generation of Skin Beauty.

 

The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the budget for the DTO across Consumer Engagement, eCommerce, Analytics, Digital Education and Beauty Tech initiatives ensuring projects and all workstreams stay on budget.  The Manager will also oversee and administer cross Regional and Brand charge backs and all vendor invoicing organization and processing into the proper HQ systems. S/He will also work on eCommerce P+L models and forecasting enhancements so the DTO can support Brands and Markets with site launch plans and ongoing run and management phases. The Finance Manager will also support Digital Transformation Innovation, M&A projects and Consumer Engagement Business Model development proposals.

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Budget Planning: Gather operating and capital expense information & requests from DTO team members and assemble budget sheets as requested by HQ finance organization. Prepare capital expense requests (documentation and other processes) and depreciation schedule.
  • Budget Control: Manage DTO monthly forecast as well as the month end process, partnering with HQ and Shiseido Americas (SAC) finance teams to actualize & accrue expenses as needed. 
  • Financial Analysis and Forecasting: Analyze current and past DTO financial data and performance; prepare reports and projections as well as synthetize financial analyses as need, coordinate with the finance team to review financial information and forecasts.
  • Risk Assessment, Identify Opportunities: Assess risks and opportunities to the latest forecast and communicate to the DTO team / management so that necessary actions may be taken.

 

Financial Operations

  • Process Monthly Invoices: coordinate with accounting and tax teams to process invoices including vendor invoices issued against DTO and DTO intracompany recharge invoices, ensure to be compliant with accounting guidelines.  For new vendor, support setting up account/arrange service agreement in order to start processing.  
  • CAPEX Management: evaluate current capital expenditures and depreciation to ensure budget limits are being met.

 

Stakeholder Communications

  • Financial Communications: Manage and execute finance related communication to all stakeholder groups.


 

Requirements

Qualification, Education, Experiences etc.  
 

•    Minimum 7+ years Financial Management 
•    Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, business and/or digital discipline 
•    Minimum 3-5-year experience supporting business, digital, CPG teams in budget and P+L Management
•    Understanding of global digital commerce ecosystems including China, United States and Japan a plus
