Travel Retail- Retail Manager, SEA

MAIN PURPOSE

The Retail Manager owns the designated account’s total business, focused on maximizing sales productivity, gaining market share and growing the region’s business. Based on Travel Retail Asia’s simple “SELL OUT/STORE/STAFF” approach, he/she is accountable for the counter’s daily operations and the performance of the field staff, leading and driving action that aims at delivering a best-in-industry retail experience for our consumers and customers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Sell Out:

  • Sets, monitor and achieves/exceeds retail sales targets to drive improvement in store ranking/market share.
  • Sales reporting: Provides timely sales reports and analysis, making recommendations and flagging risks re: anticipated shortfalls.
  • Maximizes sales opportunities by periodic review of customer profile, M.O.B. per location, trends etc. to determine optimal product assortment, TREX mix, GWP/sampling usage, training needs and marketing promos/events that will drive sales.
  • Planning and implementing suitable incentive and push out plans to boost sales.
  • Events/Animations: owns the account’s promotions/events and partners with Marketing, VM and Education Teams for best-in-class execution.
  • Keeps abreast of and provides info on competitor activities, making recommendations to boost sales.

 

Store:

  • Inventory management: monitors/manages stock levels and communication, partners with Marketing, Supply Chain and Education Teams to resolve/manage issues.
  • Merchandising excellence, hygiene standards and counter upkeep, supervises and coaches BCs to ensure all product displays and merchandising adheres to the Brand’s VM guidelines and planogram; print materials/tools are relevant and available; testers, lighting, signage and all other elements of the counter convey the Brand’s prestige image at all times.
  • Nurtures strong business partnerships with our retail partner’s store management team.

 

Staff:

  • Overall responsibility for the recruitment, onboarding, performance and evaluation of BCs and Airport Coordinators for high performance, growth, and future roles.
  • Partners Education Team to build capabilities and ensure training needs of BCs are met.
  • Ensures every BC is an Ambassador of the Brand they represent by coaching and providing feedback to them on service behaviours that drive Retail Excellence.
  • Nurture a ONE SHISEIDO team culture and BC ownership of their counter’s business.
  • Partner with Retailers and Education Team to motivate, recognize and incentivize (monetary & non-monetary means) Beauty Consultants for greater retention and performance.

 

Admin:

  • Sell Out management.
  • Maintenance of SIS page to ensure constant update.
  • POSM/Tester/GWPs/counter tools ordering and management.
  • Beauty Consultant Data Management: Ensures accuracy of PBI Master BC Tracker/BC data SAP.
  • Uniform management.
  • Support Area Sales Managers/Regional Sales Director with sell-out templates, pricing info etc. and validation.

 

Requirements:

  • Recognized university degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience; retail store management/operations experience would be an advantage.
  • Sales-driven, analytical, and meticulous.
  • Strong hands-on organizational skills; a problem-solver with a keen eye for detail.
  • Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills; must enjoy interaction with people of different levels, departments, cultures, and backgrounds.
  • Mature, independent worker, with a strong sense of accountability and a passion for growth and self-development.
  • Able to prioritize, manage multi-responsibilities and thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • High learning agility and ability to flex/navigate in ambiguity.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English and Mandarin.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office in particular, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to travel frequently [30%-40%/60-90 days].
