MAIN PURPOSE

 

Shiseido Travel Retail is a fast-growing organization, focusing on distribution within Duty Free Zones (Airports, Downtown Stores). This role plays a vital part to work closely with key stakeholders including Brand Holders, internal and regional teams as well as external vendors.

 

Reporting to the Retail Design Manager, the Retail Design Senior Executive will be exposed to brands, under the SHISEIDO Group, and the opportunity for global experience and growth within the company. 

 

As a team member of Retail Design Centre, you will partner with Retail Design Manager in leading the design and development of the creative retail output for store design & visual merchandising.  Collaborating with internal stakeholders, you will be responsible for brand’s creative voice and strategy. Bringing to table the aligned concepts, adhered to brand guidelines to deliver clear and executional ideas from end to end.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Key focus is to ensure brand design equity is applied consistently across Regional Travel Retail locations

 

  • With a clear understanding of the Brand Design Guidelines, work with regions on layouts and technical drawings (including 3D visualization if required) for further development of technical packages while overcoming site and material challenges with timely delivery of the projects.
  • Assist Retail Design Manager in aligning store design and visual merchandising strategy
  • Partner with Retail Design Manager and team members to develop and elevate the creative vision and direction of the brands
  • Lead design, development and ensure latest brand guideline is consistently implemented across all channels and markets
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure that project plans are realistic and enables timely opening/launch without compromising quality as per the team’s expectation
  • Generate quality technical build drawings for key projects with high level of accuracy for effective delivery of design and communication with internal stakeholders and brand holders.
  • Maintain communication and exchanges with key internal stakeholders i.e brand holders, global marketing teams as well as regional project management teams to ensure alignment of proposed concepts adhere to brand guidelines and regional (travelers) shopper profiles and requirements.
  • With a keen interest in digital to incorporate into both store design and visual merchandising concept deliveries for a physical store, while keeping in mind development and maintenance cost, consumer journey and interaction to result in consumer purchase.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop bespoke outpost concept / which encapsulates the consumers’ O2O journey for an elevated onsite interaction and experience. Where applicable, to take risk and think “out-of-box” for a new way to attract and engage consumers.
  • Be instrumental to develop store design and visual merchandising guidelines for regional adaptation.
  • Vendor liaison – briefing, costing and project management with external vendors on prototyping, digital and physical events managements.
  • Ensure that designs can be achieved within the region’s budget to deliver a heathy P&L.
  • Take lead to manage regular update meetings, key stakeholders, on key projects, review issues and challenges with solution proposals.
  • Maintain and update library for brand’s fixtures designs, materials, and counter photos.
  • Teamwork and clear project communication are expected, across a wide team of stakeholders which includes regional project managers and visual merchandisers, procurement and operations team, material suppliers and contractors.
  • Cross-brand support within immediate team when required.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Industrial Design.
  • At least 3 years of related working experience, in prestige beauty, or 5 years interior/retail design, preferably with luxury brands. Prior experience in Travel Retail environment will be an advantage.
  • Proficient in design software such as Sketch up, AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work independently and multi-task to manage workload with tight timelines.
  • Have an acute eye for detail and ensure high level of precision in managing design details.
  • Clear and efficient communication and presentation skills with proficiency in spoken and written English and Mandarin (in order to liaise with Mandarin speaking counterparts)
  • Excellent organization skills with ability to prioritize and plan to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Be open to feedback and ability to turnaround deliverables by stipulated timelines.
