Financial Planning & Analysis Assistant Manager

Dedicated to SHISEIDO TRAVEL RETAIL, the Financial Planning & Analysis Assistant Manager, will support the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, who has overall responsibility in the Budget/LE forecasting and consolidation process. This role will require collaboration with Finance teams across STR regions (Asia, Japan, Europe, America) and Japan based HQ.


The Financial Planning & Analysis Assistant Manager will be a key member in the STR Finance Team (FP&A), and together with his/her line manager, provide business performance analytics to identify financial trends, drive growth, highlight risk and opportunities and ensure operational coordination. To facilitate this, he/she must have a good understanding in business / economic / environmental drivers.


Business Controls

The Financial Planning & Analysis Assistant Manager is responsible to support STR Finance (FP&A), providing commercial insights to cross-functional teams and support business growth through rigorous evaluation of P&L, key business drivers and capital investment by:

  • Evaluating best practices to drive operational efficiency and business performance
  • Supporting business in pursuit financial targets through in-depth analysis and sharing of financial knowledge
  • Ensuring compliance with Group policies and best practices.


Budget / LE Management

The Financial Planning & Analysis Assistant Manager is responsible to support the development, implementation and measurement of Budget/LE by:

  • Working closely with Regional Controllers & HQ team
  • Preparing and consolidating STR budgets and forecasts
  • Reviewing and ensuring budgets and forecasts are updated accurately in SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) application
  • Handling budgetary controls; and
  • Attending to HQ FM’s ad-hoc requests


Project Management

The Financial Planning & Analysis Assistant Manager will participate in various STR Finance projects.




  • Degree holder preferably in Accountancy or related
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrates integrity in all interactions
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills; able to plan and execute tasks efficiently with the ability to keep multiple projects and client engagements active at once
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Independent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate uncertainty
  • Excellent skills in excel
  • Strong statistical inclination, able to synthesize data into concise business tactics
