Asia Pacific - Regional Digital Technology Manager

MAIN PURPOSE

 

The Regional Digital Retail Technology Manager is responsible for owning and overseeing point‑of‑sale (POS) and middleware solutions across the organization’s regional and Singapore markets. This role serves as the regional owner for POS and POS-related integration solutions, with end‑to‑end accountability for successful delivery, operational stability, and continuous improvement.

 

Working closely with regional leadership, vendors, and cross‑functional teams, the role ensures effective implementation, integration, and optimisation of retail technology solutions that support business operations, scalability, and long‑term reliability.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Project Management and Vendor Collaboration

  • Lead end‑to‑end planning and execution of regional POS and POS-related middleware/integration rollouts, ensuring alignment between business requirements, technology roadmaps, and vendor delivery plans.
  • Provide hands‑on technical leadership and strategic guidance to project teams and vendors, ensuring successful and high‑quality implementations.
  • Own vendor governance, including delivery performance reviews, SLA management, contract negotiation, and escalation processes, ensuring reliable service delivery, cost efficiency, and operational stability.
  • Act as the primary regional and Singapore point of contact for POS and middleware solutions, translating business needs into technical requirements and ensuring clear communication across IT teams, users, and vendors.

 

Ongoing Support and Optimization

  • Own steady‑state operational performance of regional POS and POS-related middleware/integration, working closely with vendor L2/L3 support teams to ensure stability and timely issue resolution.
  • Ensure operational readiness during rollouts, including cutover, hypercare, and transition to steady‑state support.
  • Analyse operational and performance metrics to identify opportunities for system optimisation, process improvement, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure up‑to‑date documentation, knowledge transfer, and training materials are maintained to support regional teams, enable sustainable operations, and meet audit and compliance requirements.

 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 5+ years of experience owning and supporting regional or enterprise‑level POS platforms (e.g., Cegid, Retail Pro, iVend, NEC)
  • Proven experience delivering POS and middleware implementations, integrations, and ongoing operations
  • Strong technical understanding of POS systems, including hardware, software, integrations, and middleware
  • Solid project delivery and vendor management skills, with experience managing external service providers
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts, risks, and decisions clearly to both technical and business stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess trade‑offs and recommend practical solutions
  • Experience in retail or e‑commerce operations; exposure to middleware and ERP integrations preferred
  • Proactive, collaborative mindset with willingness to learn and adopt new technologies
  • Ability to analyse performance data and apply insights to drive optimisation and continuous improvement
