Asia Pacific - Regional Corporate Strategy Manager

MAIN PURPOSE 

 

The Shiseido APAC Corporate Strategy and Development organization is dedicated to supporting the regional leadership team in shaping the future of the company. By assessing trends that impact the business across consumers, categories, competition, and technology, the team actively identifies opportunities, defines strategies, and introduces new initiatives to create maximum value. This function collaborates closely with various functions across the region to ensure alignment of goals and execution.

 

As the Regional Corporate Strategy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the business planning process and supporting critical business status reporting across the Asia Pacific region. Your responsibilities will span multiple key areas, ensuring the company’s strategic goals are met through effective planning, analysis, and execution.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Business Management & Reporting

  • Key Role in Business Planning: Play a pivotal role in the Asia Pacific region’s business planning process, supporting critical business status reporting.

  • Performance Reviews: Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual business performance reviews, providing updated business estimates for the upcoming year.

  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Collaborate closely with finance, supply chain, and brand teams within the Regional Headquarters to prepare reports and provide insights and justifications for actions and plans.

  • Global Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely communication of business performance and strategic initiatives to global headquarters.

 

Quarterly Business Review & Annual Budget Planning

  • QBR Coordination: Coordinate and manage the preparation of quarterly business reviews.

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data from various markets and departments to assess business performance.

  • Presentation Preparation: Prepare QBR presentations and reports for senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.

  • Meeting Facilitation: Facilitate QBR meetings, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are informed and engaged.

  • Budget Planning Support: Assist the Strategy Director in the annual budget planning process, working closely with department heads to develop comprehensive budget guidelines for markets.

  • Reporting: Prepare budget presentations for senior management.

 

Regional Pricing Management

  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer behavior to inform pricing decisions.

  • Pricing Database Maintenance: Maintain and update pricing databases across key brands for APAC markets.

  • Competitor Benchmarking: Monitor competitor benchmarking and cross-market pricing corridors.

  • New Launch Pricing: Collaborate with the brand team to determine the optimal pricing for new product launches.

  • Strategic Pricing: Evaluate pricing opportunities to maximize sales and improve profitability for brands.

 

Special Projects / Strategic Initiatives

  • Project Management: Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and track the progress of initiatives, ensuring they stay on track and align with the company’s strategic direction.

  • Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate progress, results, and recommendations to stakeholders.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Innovative and Data-Driven: Proactive with a strong desire to challenge the status quo and able to connect insights across various functions and initiatives.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing, business development, consulting or related field.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to simplify complex analyses into clear communications.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (e.g. excel, PowerPoint, Power BI). Experience in business modelling will be preferred. 

  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing and executing projects within cross-functional environments.

  • Leadership Influence: Skilled in influencing different stakeholders through data and insights.

  • Industry Experience: Experience in the FMCG industry within an APAC context will be a plus.
