Job Summary:

 

The Manager, Costing is responsible for Standard Cost process in SAP across the Shiseido Americas. This includes establishing and implementing costing principles, reporting and managing the annual cost roll, New Product Launches and all adhoc costing activities. In addition, the incumbent is an active business partner to the procurement team in analysis of savings opportunities and reporting results.  

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead cost modeling activities for all brands across CM and EW factories
  • Work cross functionally with Product Development, Sustainability, Procurement, manufacturing and distribution center and the Master Data team to execute costing.
  • Support the DDG business and SAP integration
  • Become a SAP Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Shiseido Americas costing process
  • Develop annual costing assumptions for standards, and year over year variance analysis
  • Work with Brand Finance & Product Development to support margin analysis and approval of new product launch standards
  • Specific costing responsibility for EW Factory, Contract Manufacturing, Affiliate purchases, Visual Merchandising and Assembly kits
  • Maintain standard pricing across all distribution channels and perform monthly validation
  • Govern PIR (Purchase Information Record) and MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) changes vs. annual set standards
  • Support procurement with cost savings projects, and validate savings
  • Support new sustainability initiatives across all brands
  • Train associates in the business on standards process, and how to navigate SAP to perform analysis (if associate is approved for this access)
  • Develop relevant reporting to support monthly analysis and brand analysis
  • Report monthly on standard cost variances, and troubleshoot and solve any issues with standards

 

Qualifications & Competencies:

 

  • 4 - 6 years of costing experience
  • Strong product costing technical skills with strong focus on continuous process and system improvement  
  • Experience in product cost planning, operational accounting, inventory controls, and material master set up
  • Knowledge of managerial accounting including month end processes and variance analysis
  • High analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Action oriented and results oriented, ability to roll up the sleeves and own deliverables
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work cross functionally and deliver regional communications & presentations
  • SAP experience 

 

Remote with travel to NYC Office/East Windsor as often as required by the business.
