Job Summary:

The Executive Director, IT Infrastructure & Engineering is responsible for both the long-term strategies and day-to-day activities related to infrastructure, data center, cloud operations, networks, Microsoft applications and related day-to-day operations and service.  This role will collaborate with IT, senior leaders, and 3rd party vendors to deliver platforms that provide availability, capacity, and performance to the enterprise and keep pace with business demands. Responsible for working with cross-functional IT teams to deliver key projects and initiatives.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and prioritize IT initiatives within area of responsibility and coordinate the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future systems as well as associated operational functions.
  • Accountable for all production systems and environments, including responsibility for the overall enterprise-wide effectiveness and efficiency of data center (on premise and cloud) technology systems and networks and in ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and reliability.
  • Ensure infrastructure expectations are met in support of application development initiatives.
  • Define and document processes for deployments and system-level changes.
  • Deliver innovative solutions that meet company and market needs with respect to availability, functionality, performance, reliability, repeatability, scalability, and speed to market. 
  • Participate in the creation and review of IT business plans, annual budgets (CapEx/OpEx) and forecasts within area of responsibility.   Responsible for managing to or exceeding operating and capital budget targets. 
  • Collaborate with security lead on the definition and implementation of standards related to area of responsibility.
  • Regularly review IT vendor contracts and costs for IT services and products. Proactively manage renewals and optimize portfolio. 
  • Manage regional staff to include recruitment, scheduling, training, yearly evaluation, organizational design, and disciplinary actions. 
  • Manage and negotiate contracts related to service and IT needs, including hardware, bandwidth, co-location facilities, and third-party software vendors.
  • Ensure staff is sufficiently skilled and experienced to perform their tasks through continual assessment of performance and taking action to coach, correct or improve where required.
  • Lead Infrastructure and Network staff to ensure deadlines, risks, constraints, resources, tasks, priorities, and interfaces are understood and communicated.
  • Provide leadership in project management related to the relevant business area and provide regular and timely updates for IT related projects.
  • Partner with key business clients, functional groups, and development team to deliver against product and service goals and business requirements.
  • Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance.
  • Ensure team processes adhere to all ITGC standards and controls and participate in audit processes.
  • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans meet acceptable business risk levels.
  • Understand operational model for each cloud provider including provisioning, de-provisioning, scaling, billing, all optional services. Own the provisioning life cycle for each cloud provider.
  • Assess regional domain needs on projects and systems and recommend architectural solutions matching company strategies and architectural principles. This effort leads to a unified architectural solution which is efficient in cost, low in complexity, and provides a stable platform from which IT can support the company’s strategy both in the near term and future state.
  • Perform necessary planning to ensure environments or solutions are adequately scalable for anticipated growth and availability. Set standards and performance metrics for the architectural domain and report on them regularly.
  • Analyzes incident criticality. Acts as incident manager, provides guidance and coaching and/or handles escalated issues to ensure timely mitigation of impact.
  • Ensure that major incidents are properly identified and swiftly escalated to appropriate teams and other initiatives, projects and duties as assigned.
  • Reviews and approves notices regarding an incident. Ensures message is accurate and complete.
  • Appropriately allocates resources to cover all support needs, including off-business hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in similar role
  • Strong knowledge of application architectures, enterprise architecture, release methodologies, project management, technical support, production support, client/server applications, internet/ intranet applications, and SaaS computing
  • Demonstrated experience working with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Outstanding collaboration and team building skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Overall Understanding of Core infrastructure, security and database technologies that are leveraged globally and regionally:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of networks that are made up of Nexus, Various Catalyst Switch platforms, ISE, Wireless LAN 5500, and 9800-series Controllers, with various Lightweight and Standalone Cisco Access Points.
  • Understanding of SD-WAN technology and how the solution can deliver positive business outcomes for globalization.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud technologies, preferably (Azure, AWS). 
  • Demonstrate knowledge in supporting monitoring technologies and metric reporting capabilities.
