Title:  Senior Manager, Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions Integration (Group)

Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Strategy and M&A Integration will support the design and execution of strategic initiatives that address key challenges and deliver sustainable top-line and bottom-line performance improvement in the region.  The role will also support the integration of acquisitions (brands, technologies, etc.) into the Shiseido Group, globally.

 

Essential Job Duties on Strategy & Value Creation Initiatives

  • Support the development of new initiatives that drive sustainable Sales and/or Operating Profit improvement. Initiatives include larger transformational projects like shared service organization design or Marketing Effectiveness as well as smaller strategic initiatives like Make vs. Buy decisions
  • Perform financial analysis, best practice benchmarking (internal and external), and operational assessments to identify and define new areas of value creation
  • Work with Finance to build financial models and create the business case for change
  • Work with the Strategy team to define implementation plans for the initiatives – including KPIs and related processes and ownership to track and report on results
  • Project manage implementation of the initiatives by monitoring and reporting on progress, preparing for steering committee reviews, and troubleshooting issues with functional leaders

Essential Job Duties on M&A Integration

  • Support due diligence efforts on potential acquisitions or minority investments by conducting market and competitive research and building analytical models for sales projections or synergy calculation
  • Support the pre-close integration planning including set up of the Integration Management Office and developing the 100-day integration timeline and activity list
  • Provide project management support for the execution of integration activities, including synergy capture initiatives
  • Work with HR on the organization integration of the acquired entity into Shiseido Americas to ensure that there is a smooth and respectful employee transition process and capture of headcount synergies
  • Work with Finance to establish the synergy tracking and reporting process with defined responsibilities and accountabilities across functional teams

Experience and Qualifications

  • MBA from a top tier business school or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years post-graduate experience in management consulting or corporate strategy required (Ideal candidate is a Senior Associate / Consultant or new Manager), OR

Consumer Goods or Retail experience required; Prestige Beauty experience preferred
