Executive Director, Ecommerce (NARS)
Job Summary:
Lead the day-to-day and end-to-end operations of the US narscosmetics.com e-commerce site, overseeing consumer-facing experience, inventory planning and management, and agency partnerships. Develop and implement innovative strategies to drive continued e-commerce growth through creative digital programs, leveraging data-driven insights. Facilitate daily communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding KPIs, program status, order management, and performance tracking. Collaborate within a matrixed organization, working closely with US Marketing, Global eCommerce, Creative, Marketing, Media, Customer Experience, Artistry, Education, and the Americas Digital Transformation (ADX) teams.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
E-commerce Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement the overall e-commerce strategy for NARS in the US.
- Own commercial planning of the e-commerce business, collaborating with Global and US Marketing teams, Finance, ADX, and warehouse operations/logistics to unlock revenue and profit opportunities within the P&L.
- Lead program management including forecasts, seasonality, inventory/collateral planning, and supply, acting as a dynamic merchant under the brand umbrella.
- Partner with sales and finance on Continuous Estimate Planning (CEP) to accurately update sales and forecasts based on the latest trends and insights.
Sales and Reporting
- Provide weekly and monthly sales commentary/reporting to senior leadership.
- Own day-to-day analytics ensuring the ability to track, measure, and report on all KPIs, with special attention to site performance, performance marketing results and inventory management.
Marketing and Promotional Strategies
- Develop a robust promotional calendar to maximize brand product launches with engaging storytelling, creating high-conversion and high-margin offers while adhering to brand guidelines.
- Oversee and ideate e-commerce marketing strategy and calendar to effectively drive sales, build brand loyalty, and support .com and cross-functional programs.
- Partner closely with the media agency to manage lower funnel media (including search, paid social, retargeting, affiliate marketing) to achieve strong ROAS, coordinating with brand media on full-funnel optimizations.
Innovation and Industry Trends
- Participate in leadership meetings to bring digital excellence to the business.
- Stay current with the latest e-commerce trends and technology to drive innovation and stay ahead of the competition.
- Leverage in-depth understanding of e-commerce business models to drive sales through innovative, effective, and cost-efficient marketing/merchandising programs and strategies.
Working Relationships/Key Stakeholders
- Lead and mentor a growing e-commerce team of three, leveraging past mentoring experience to evolve and champion team members and hiring additional industry-leading professionals as needed.
- Promote a culture of customer advocacy and develop programs that enrich high-value customers and cultivate new ones, serving as the liaison to the ADX CRM team.
- Take a collaborative approach to decision-making with attention to detail and excellent follow-up.

- Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders across various departments and teams to ensure alignment and achievement of business goals.
Working Relationships/Key Stakeholders
- Work closely with US marketing, sales, and operations teams.
- Collaborate with global ecommerce team.
- Partner with the Americas Digital Transformation (ADX) and other brand peers to share knowledge, gleam opportunities, and represent the brand in all Ecommerce-focused activity.
Financial Accountability
- Deliver US Ecommerce sales and profit goals
- Manage lower funnel media investment while improving ROI
- Improve gross margin with discount/promo management
- Lead Continuous Estimate Planning (CEP) & Latest Estimate (LE) cycles
- Provide Weekly Sales & Revenue updates
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field required. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years progressive e-Commerce experience including successfully developing and implementing e-Commerce CRM strategies and plans with proven ability to deliver sales targets (Beauty/Fashion Retail industry experience preferred).
- Excellent communicator, able to build strong cross-functional relationships, internally and externally.
- 5+ years people management experience.
- Business experience with web commerce platforms and technologies, specifically Salesforce Commerce Cloud a plus.
- Strong financial acumen and proven track record in building and managing a P&L.
- A highly motivated, passionate self-starter with a deep understanding of the online customers' needs, the product, and the competitive landscape.
- Superior project management skills, including the ability to multi task and manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and to meet deadlines with sense of urgency.
