Job Summary:

The Director, US Visual Merchandising is responsible for a broad range of tasks involving all aspects of Shiseido US retail experience.  The role drives the overall visual look and feel, creating directives and training tools for the brands, and ensuring flawless execution for the US market.

Oversee multiple brands (Shiseido, Dolce & Gabbana, Hermes, Narcisco Rodriguez, Issey Miyake, Ferragamo, Cle De Peau) across multiple retail partners (Macys, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks, Sephora, Ulta, etc.)


Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and direct activities for establishing the US presentation of the Brands. Establish and communicate guidelines for all markets to implement
  • Direct communication to regional field partners with regard to visual focus
  • Travel when necessary to guide and set-up new store/environments and work closely directing all partners
  • Regular store visits to monitor execution and elevate key markets
  • Work with vendors and procurement to develop props and fixtures


Qualifications & Competencies:

  • 10 years of experience in retail design and visual merchandising and/or prop fixtures
  • Proficient on a MAC platform.  Programs include Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office
  • Proven VM and display skills
  • Understands spatial relationships, how customers shop and how to communicate brand strategies to customer new and exciting ways
