Business Development Director - Skin & Suncare

MAIN PURPOSE

The position is for leading the Skin & Sun care business & strategies for India that reports into the Country Head/Senior Commercial Director

He/she works with regional teams (RHQ) to understand the latest business trends and maximize the value of our brand(s) through developing, communicating, and implementing brand strategies and developing guidelines covering portfolio, communication, activation and pricing. He/she maintains good relationships with business partners and manages stakeholders. He/she is motivated and detailed at work and can manage difficult problems in a dynamic business environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Deliver the Business Objectives – Sales, Distribution, Market Share & Profit KPIs. Ensure that our distributor partners have the right representation of brands across channels. This should be in line with aligned execution expectations & KPIs such as distribution, merchandising, rank in channel/store, External sales & Operating Profit.
  • Develop GTM strategies on “How to Win” & “Where to Play” choices for our brands/channels.
  • Develop Joint Business plans with our distributor partners & retailers to execute & grow market share for our brands in a sustainable & profitable manner
  • Collaborate with the local distributor partner with company insights & directions to enable business growth & development for the brands.
  • Identify opportunities for new products/formats/initiatives & channels of distribution.

 

MARKETING STRATEGY, PLAN & EXECUTION

  • Co-create marketing strategy working closely with RHQ/Brand Teams, share recommendations on competitive positions and our brand portfolio.
  • Contribute to define strategy and actions to grow brands sustainably by maximizing profitability.
  • Co-create with our distributor partner for execution of marketing strategy i.e., communications, marketing mix that help deliver the business KPIs.
  • Work closely our distributor partner & marketing agencies to provide strategic guidance and support on appropriate marketing plans implementation for the local market.
  • Monitor implementation & efficacy of marketing activities, local campaigns, and third-party co-marketing.
  • Be an expert on local understanding of customer behavior and translate marketing strategy and insights to help win in market.

 

COMMUNICATION AND ADVERTISING STRATEGY

  • Define the communication strategy for the local market in accordance with brand guidelines.
  • Lead development and implementation of all key communication assets alongside Regional Brands Team.
  • Establish and conduct relations with external partners.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience, preferably in brand development & its commercial management
  • Solid knowledge of marketing tools, frameworks, concepts and good data interpretation skills, analyzing results and measures
  • Familiarity with key digital platforms/channels
  • Knowledge of consumers and Prestige/Premium beauty category dynamics
  • A team player with strong collaborative spirit, ability to influence vertically and horizontally
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good stakeholder management
