The Demand Planner is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely production of local forecasts for newness, POSM, incremental promotions and all core products (base on catalogue) across the entire range of each brand. The Demand Planner is integral in supporting the production of the S&OP pack that is used across the business, providing essential inputs for the monthly demand planning cycle in meetings with other commercial teams.

  • Responsible for forecast accuracy of newness, promotions and POSM for Shiseido Brands in the UK & I market
  • Be an integral part of the S&OP process, ensuring correct data is provided and collated from both the commercial and marketing teams to drive forecast accuracy and maximise fulfilment rates
  • Challenge & interrogate forecast assumptions of commercial partners to improve forecast accuracy
  • Capturing all newness forecast assumptions and then evaluating actual sales against them
  • Analysing past new launch sales trends to inform forward forecast
  • Complete understanding of the factors affecting demand and quantifying their effect i.e. distribution levels, new / existing distribution etc.
  • Lead the event planning meetings to communicate the availability of new lines and agree contingency plans
  • Compile and upload retailer forecasts with respect to availability and demand
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Ensure timely reaction to changes in business with appropriate shifts in plans and timely communication to partners.
  • Liaising with RHQ (in Paris) to understand constrained stock ETAs and communicate to commercial teams
  • Highlight any upsurges in demand and communicate to relevant parties in the Supply Chain
  • Identify and communicate business risks and opportunities to maximise sales, profitability and inventory turn objectives
  • Support allocation / quota management for market



  • In depth working knowledge of the cosmetics sector or of a similarly face-paced sector (FMCG, Mass retail…)
  • Proven commercial forecasting experience
  • Advanced excel skills - essential
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong numeracy skills with the ability to interpret data and spot trends
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to work collaboratively with remote teams across different time zones
