Manager - Sales & Retail Operations
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Sales & Retail Operations professional, you play a pivotal role in driving the company’s overall business performance. You are accountable for delivering retail sales targets for assigned brand across designated offline channels, while ensuring sustainable growth and market competitiveness. In this role, you will lead the continuous improvement and standardization of retail operational processes, ensuring strong governance, compliance, and adherence to company policies. You are responsible for achieving key commercial objectives, including sales performance, store productivity, and point-of-sale (POS) workforce effectiveness. With a strong passion for people development, you will lead, coach, and inspire a team of high-performing retail professionals to consistently achieve and exceed business targets. You bring a proven track record in retail operations management, coupled with a deep understanding of the local beauty industry, consumer behavior, and retail landscape.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Commercial Excellence
- Develop and execute retail strategies aligned with brand positioning and overall business objectives.
- Own and drive sales performance across all retail channels, ensuring achievement and over-delivery of revenue targets.
- Monitor and analyze sales data and KPIs (sell-through, ATV, conversion rate, productivity) to identify opportunities and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and optimize P&L performance, including revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost control.
- Drive market share growth through effective execution of marketing campaigns, promotions, and in-store activations.
- Provide regular business insights on sales outlook, competitive landscape, and retail developments to stakeholders.
- Lead accurate sales forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting of risks and opportunities.
Retail & Operations Management
- Oversee daily retail operations across all stores, ensuring compliance with company policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements (e.g., PDPA, audit standards).
- Ensure operational excellence in areas such as store opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and stock control.
- Lead inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize obsolescence, and drive efficient SKU rationalization.
- Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to align demand forecasting and optimize product allocation by channel.
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, safety, hygiene, and overall retail environment.
- Lead store openings, renovations, and retail transformation projects where applicable.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
People Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing point of sales team to achieve business objectives.
- Recruit and retain top talent with strong selling and operational capabilities.
- Identify capability gaps and implement structured training and development plans.
- Drive point of sales team engagement, productivity, and performance management initiatives.
- Partner with HR on employee relations matters, including performance improvement and disciplinary actions in line with company policies.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and etc
- Build strong relationships with landlords, retail partners, and external vendors to enhance business opportunities.
- Ensure alignment of all stakeholders in delivering retail and business objectives.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field
- Minimum 8 years of sound experience in retail management, preferably in the beauty industry
- Excellent communication skills – must be able to communicate well with colleagues, field staff and consumers
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to details
- Possess outstanding interpersonal skills, creative and positive attitude to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Team player, confident and results orientated
