JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Facilities Supervisor to work directly under the Facilities Manager, responsible for coordinating maintenance operations and custodial staff across three shifts in a high-volume distribution center. This role includes collaborating with the facilities Coordinator on administrative tasks, directing daily activities through shift leads, and ensuring smooth and efficient facility operations. The ideal candidate will uphold high standards of safety, reliability, and cleanliness while driving operational excellence.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- You will supervise and coordinate the activities of technicians and custodial staff, working closely with shift leads to manage daily operations across three shifts.
- You will develop and manage shift schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and smooth handoffs between shifts.
- You will oversee preventative maintenance (PM) programs for warehouse equipment, including conveyors, material handling systems, HVAC systems, and other facility machinery, to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- You will provide hands-on technical assistance and guidance to technicians during troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues.
- You will partner with the facilities coordinator on administrative tasks, including tracking maintenance schedules, updating equipment records, generating reports, and managing inventory of supplies.
- You will foster clear and effective communication with shift leads and team members to promote collaboration across all shifts.
- You will monitor performance metrics and provide coaching, training, and constructive feedback to staff, utilizing shift leads to communicate and implement improvements.
- You will ensure custodial staff maintain high standards of cleanliness in shared spaces, restrooms, and work areas.
- You will conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, or opportunities for operational improvement.
- You will uphold compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- You will liaise with vendors and contractors to ensure quality service and cost-effective solutions.
- You will prepare and present reports on facility operations, maintenance activities, and project updates, collaborating with the facilities coordinator as needed.
WHO YOU ARE
- You are someone with a High school diploma or equivalent required, associate or bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- You are someone with 5+ years of experience in facility maintenance or management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role overseeing multiple shifts.
- You are someone with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, as well as building maintenance practices.
- You are someone with proven leadership skills, with experience working through shift leads to manage diverse teams.
- You are someone with excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- You are someone with a solid knowledge of workplace safety standards and regulations, including OSHA compliance.
- You are someone with proficiency with maintenance management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and email communication.
- You are someone with a strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to addressing issues.
- You are someone with a willingness to work flexible hours to meet operational needs and support varied schedules.

The hourly rate for this position may vary based on geographic location. Pay is based on several factors including knowledge, education, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, we may offer additional forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package, including a discretionary annual bonus in addition to a full range of benefits.
