Analyzes released production orders to build optimal assembly production schedules based on availability, urgency, and capacity.  Builds rolling 12-week outlooks of labor demand and supply to drive headcount strategy and weekly staffing decisions. Works collaboratively with Corporate Assembly Planning group.

Supports lean culture through completion of continuous improvement projects, 5S area ownership, and support & leadership by example with assembly colleagues.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Validates released production orders are physically & systemically supportable.
  • Creates weekly assembly production schedules based on labor capacity, line capacity, component availability, and order need by dates.
  • Generates resulting weekly pick lists of corresponding components needed to support production schedule.
  • Analyzes SAP-generated COOIS report from Rutherford Assembly Planning to organize unfulfilled demand into weekly production periods.
  • Constructs weekly 12-week rolling demand outlook and supporting labor supply based on staffing capacity & constraints.
  • Orders temporary headcount weekly in support of the immediate schedule and in accordance to the outlook’s labor strategy.
  • Facilitates weekly Demand Planning call with Rutherford Assembly Planning and key stakeholders for review of current week progress and upcoming scheduling concerns.
  • Coordinates with DC partners on the inventory movements needed to enable order allocation (Warehouse 2, GTP, etc.)
  • Supports process of identifying and authorizing orders for outsourced fulfillment.
  • Evolves the scheduling process to day-level schedules and utilize the order segmentation functionality of the RP Scheduling Tool.
  • Measures key performance obstacles regarding order modification, order hold-up, supportability timing, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Assembly Operation working knowledge, or equivalent experience
  • Planning or Scheduling experience, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Blue Yonder or extensive working knowledge of WMS technology, including transactional & inventory research
  • SAP ERP familiarity a plus
  • Fluency in MS Office suite
  • Broad-based familiarity with DC inventory flows/processes
  • Experience in a continuous improvement, lean methodology work environment, including Six Sigma belt certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or comparable education, a plus
  • Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM), or other comparable certification, a plus
  • Simulation and/or Production scheduling software a plus
