JOB SUMMARY
This position is part of Quality External Operations Group. Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector/Equipment Operator ensures compliance with cGMP and company policies, procedures and specifications. This position is responsible for performing inspection and batch record review of Shiseido cosmetic and OTC products produced at contract manufacturers, and quality system functions in accordance with cGMP and any related company SOP’s and FDA regulations. The Quality Inspector/Equipment Operator position is responsible for the inspection and documentation of all finished and semi-finished parts that are made at contract manufacturers and other business partners as assigned. This position will operate power equipment such as reach trucks, turret trucks and double pallet riders within the distribution center. May also operate manual pallet jacks. This position is responsible for transporting products, completing case picks, and accurate inventory management with use of computers or Radio Frequency “RF” guns.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- You will support department and organizational goals and objectives.
- You will perform required inspections and releases through contract manufacturer visits, pre-delivery samples (PDS), or receipt of incoming shipments.
- You will use statistical sampling tools such as ISO 2859, ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, or per company's SOP.
- You will perform QC/QA inspections in a timely manner.
- You will help in the inspection workload and cover during vacation needs of other Quality Inspectors
- You will conduct training of others (both internal and external) to ensure test procedures and work instructions are understood and followed correctly.
- You will complete all pre-shift inspection checklists on all power equipment before use.
- You will use RF technology and appropriate inventory management practices.
- You will be wearing proper PPE.
- You will maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment.
- You will work collaboratively with other employees and departments toward common goals and objectives.
- You will work in a safe manner and look out for your co-workers.
- You will be attending all monthly and quarterly performance meetings.
- You will be working overtime and/or weekend work assigned as necessary.
- You will be required to do some travel: Local: 0-10%
- You will perform other duties as required and assigned.
WHO YOU ARE
- You are required 2+ years’ experience in Quality control environment preferably in cosmetics or FMCG with exposure to cGMP regulations.
- You are required a minimum 0-3 years’ experience driving power equipment
- You are preferred to have work experience in a distribution center
- You are required to have experience operating RF scanners
- You are required to have strong attention to detail.
- You are required to have knowledge of math and statistics.
- You are required to have analytical and counting skills
- You are required to have the ability to read and interpret specifications and CAD drawings.
- You are required to have hands-on experience with basic measuring equipment.
- You are required to have basic knowledge of MS-Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
- You are required to have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You are required to be able to handle large volumes of work and change priorities as needed.
- You are required to have the ability to work independently, requiring minimum supervisory direction.
- You are required to take initiative and be self-motivated.
- You are preferred to have SAP knowledge.
- You are required to be able to lift, stand or walk constantly all shift as needed.
- You are required to move about and work in alternate departments to support the business
- You are required to be flexible to work overtime
- You are required to be able to frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- You are required to have the ability to wear a body harness and other fall protection PPE and meet the required weight classifications for fall protection. Weight classifications will be an ongoing requirement; regular weigh-ins are mandatory for safety purposes.

The hourly rate for this position may vary based on geographic location. Pay is based on several factors including knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, we may offer additional forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package, including a full range of benefits.
