We are seeking enthusiastic interns for the Shiseido Hajimari Summer Internship program, a paid, full-time, 9-week experience from June 1st to July 31st. Based in our New Jersey and New York offices, this program offers hands-on exposure to the full product life-cycle, from Marketing to Manufacturing, along with impactful projects, networking opportunities, and professional development workshops. About our Lean Six Sigma Team:

Our Lean Six Sigma (LSS) team serves as a cross-functional engine for operational excellence within Shiseido Operations. Our primary mission is to improve profitability and customer satisfaction by merging two methodologies: Lean (which focuses on eliminating waste and increasing efficiency) and Six Sigma (which focuses on reducing process variation and defects).

Our team operates as a specialized "problem-solving unit" that uses data-driven frameworks, most notably DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control), in conjunction with the Shiseido Good Project Practices to transform inefficient business processes into streamlined, high-quality operations.

What You’ll Do:

• Waste Elimination: Identifying muda (waste), such as overproduction, waiting times, and unnecessary movement, to speed up delivery of products or services.
• Defect Reduction: Using statistical analysis to find the root causes of errors and ensuring that products or services meet quality standards.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Moving the company or department toward objective, evidence-based improvements.
• Standardization: Creating consistent streamlined workflows applying best practices.

Requirements:

• Must be a rising Junior or Senior in college working towards a bachelor’s degree  
• Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and highly organized 
• Energetic, self-motivated, results oriented 
• Flexible and able to function in a fast-paced, safety-first work environment 
• Have a passion for cosmetics, the beauty industry and keeping up-to-date with industry trends
