We are seeking enthusiastic interns for the Shiseido Summer Internship program, a paid, full-time, 9-week experience from June 2nd to August 1st. This program offers hands-on exposure to the full product life-cycle, from Marketing to Manufacturing, along with impactful projects, networking opportunities, and professional development workshops. About our Facility Team:

The Facility Team, consisting of engineers, technicians, custodians and maintenance leadership, are responsible for maintaining and ensuring operational efficiency of a modern distribution center and safely driving equipment reliability (reduce unplanned equipment downtime). The Facility Team also manages all aspects of capital improvement projects (scoping, planning, execution, budget management and project closure).

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Partners with DC leadership to manage and/or co-manage process improvement projects from start to finish. Facilitate data analysis to conduct financial analysis.
  • Conducts time studies and creates, documents, and communicates the process for each DC function.
  • Manages and improves databases containing standards information, to include procedures and cost per order or unit.
  • Partners with Operations teams to facilitate new process setup, pilot run support, process improvement, troubleshooting, and operations best practices.
  • Determines and implements work procedures, processes, and systems to expedite workflow and achieve results.  Monitors and reports on adherences to procedures.
  • Facilitates problem solving and continuous improvement activities, utilizing statistical techniques and other problem-solving methods. Proposes solutions and alternatives based on analysis.
  • Assists in preparation or coordination of required process validation activities.
  • Follows through on commitments and demonstrates consistency in communication and actions.
  • Partners with Distribution Management team to facilitate the implementation of the Distribution UPH (units per hour) model throughout the operation.
  • Assists in capital request generation by conducting ROI analysis as needed.
  • Partners with maintenance leadership to drive equipment reliability leveraging data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to use problem-solving skills, communicate effectively, and lead by example.
  • Ability to learn and perform all warehouse processes as needed.
  • Knows and understands the internal and external customer base.
  • Ability to remove barriers that inhibit change.
  • Dependable and accountable for achieving organization’s overall goals and expectations.
  • Ability to provide feedback to management on strengths and developmental needs of warehouse team.
  • Other projects and assistance as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior in college working towards a bachelor’s degree  
  • Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and highly organized 
  • Energetic, self-motivated, results oriented 
  • Flexible and able to function in a fast-paced, safety-first work environment 
  • Have a passion for cosmetics, the beauty industry and keeping up-to-date with industry trends  
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, TQM, Process Improvement and high performance concepts
  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access
  • AutoCAD, Visio, Microsoft Project
  • Familiarity with distribution center technology preferred, but not required.
  • Simulation and/or Production scheduling software a plus
  • Ability to travel (less than 5%)
  • Moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity. 
  • Ability to climb stairs, lift 40 pounds, and regularly sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch on a concrete floor.
