Title:  Specialist, Regulatory

Regulatory Affairs is responsible for ensuring that Shiseido Group USA products meet and follow all regulatory requirements necessary to conduct business globally.      The Regulatory Specialist will assist with daily responsibilities, project work and regular on-going analysis to support assigned brand(s).       

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Gathering, generating and managing technical information including formula, raw material, specification, stability data, safety test report, efficacy test report, SDS, artworks, packaging material, ingredient listing, etc.                                                                                        
  • Assisting in gathering, organizing, and delivering Regulatory information to product development, marketing, R&D, QA, manufacturing, contract manufacturer, and outside laboratories.                                                                                    
  • Submitting necessary governmental registration forms/surveys as required on a timely basis, including VCRP notification, CA Safe Cosmetic Act notification, SPL submissions, Canada Cosmetic Notification, EC CPNP notification, CARB VOC survey, Canada CEPA survey, EU REACH, etc.


  • Ensuring outgoing Regulatory information and artwork for accuracy.


  • Acting as liaison between internal and external personnel at each stage of Regulatory compliance.


  • Provide detailed monthly reports.


Working Relationships/Key Stakeholders:

  • SAC Regulatory Team
  • Working closely with internal departments


Qualifications & Competencies:


  • BS or BA Chemistry or related field
  • Minimum 3 years in global cosmetic/OTC regulatory experience                 
  • Must have excellent computer skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills     
  • Web and internet savvy; navigate through web to retrieve information
  • Goal-oriented, proactive, able to multi-task
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate understanding of complex concepts
  • Outstanding decision making capabilities – especially in regards to escalation of issues
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment
  • Experience in cosmetic/personal care, a plus
