Job Summary: 

The overall function of this position will be responsible for overseeing contract manufacturers projects by working together with cross functional teams such as Regulatory, Product Development, QA, Packaging, R&D Safety and Technical Information group. The ideal candidate works independently in a team environment and can handle multiple projects at once.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Primary contact with the CM & internal stakeholders to ensure quality and timely launches. 
  • Review stability/compatibility reports from CMs and advise the improvement of formulas. Investigate stability issues if needed. Responsible to approve the results and stability testing of CM formulas, including internal stability.
  • Be a gate keeper for CM formulas by following internal guidelines.
  • Act as a team player by working with internal R&D Group by requesting samples needed for required tests, documentation or troubleshooting to ensure & facilitate a successful product launch.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize.
  • Understand, follow, and adhere to project objectives and timelines developed for each project.
  • Follow requirements of the new product development process, follow through with action plans to meet the goals and timeline of the project and present project status to upper management.
  • Track project timelines to ensure targets are achieved and elevate challenges appropriately. 
  • Participate in the process improvement implementation with all cross-functional teams.
  • Ownership of the Technical Risk Assessment Process for projects.
  • Any other tasks assigned by manager.

  • R&D – Regulatory/Safety/Quality, Claims, Stability
  • Corporate Product Development, New Product Development & Brand Holders
  • Packaging Development and Testing Group
  • Corporate Quality Group


Qualifications & Competencies: 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cosmetic formulations and CM experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent Science
  • Knowledge of industry trends
  • Strong ability to manage complexity
  • Requires strong organization, communication and writing skills
  • Motivated and works well in teams and independently.
  • Must be able to collaborate with groups outside R&D to help address product / formula issues.  
  • Able to work on projects independently and take extra steps to get the job done
  • Able to work with short timelines, manage multiple projects with competing dates.
