Job Summary: 

Manage the creation and timely execution of an achievable, efficient production schedule for a group of Contract Manufacturers (Domestic and International) while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels and agreed upon service levels. Create and maintain purchase orders and other transactions within SAP. Perform monthly or quarterly inventory reconciliations with assigned CM sites and ensure inventory accuracy.  

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the supply planning to maintain service, inventory with contract manufacturing. Be the SPOC for assigned CMs.
  • Manage relationship with strategic CM site(s) through monthly CS&OP Process
  • Manage long term planning for catalog in IBP planning tool environment.
  • Manage Shiseido Owned inventory accuracy at external manufacturing sites.
  • Own daily management for service and inventory for the portfolio.
  • Work with New Product Commercialization to define the supply plan for launches.
  • Execute the defined service level agreement for the CMs.

 

Working Relationships/Key Stakeholders:

  • In conjunction with CMs and procurement, and in line with the global planning blueprint, define the run strategies for the various product types and class (e.g., ABC class)
  • Develop and maintain relationship with external manufacturing plant. Build rhythm and cadence with the site to enrich the relationship.
  • In alignment with the planning blueprint, define inventory policies to allow forecasts to be accurately translated into manufacturing production schedules in support of the defined run strategies and business objectives.
  • Interface with the CMs to ensure the implementation and use of the most efficient, cost-effective manufacturing strategies by product type.
  • Maintain low inventory report (Shiseido Service Letter) and daily service management for their portfolio, in partnership with S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning).
  • Maintain all SKUs within the planning window while keeping agreed service levels.
  • Work with CMs to execute the SLA as per agreed strategies.
  • Work with CMs to define supply strategies as per the category.
  • Plan & track inventory levels of Finished goods via the long-term IBP planning module.
  • Monitor Excess and Obsolete inventory. Drive Root Cause Problem Solving and action planning/execution to reduce E&O.
  • Work with Material Supply Planning to ensure timely component deliveries.
  • Work with New Product Commercialization to define supply plan for new products launches.

 

Qualifications & Competencies: 

  • Prefer APICS exposure and CPIM certification
  • 4-year academic degree in relevant field or related job experience
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a supply planning role, ideally in a manufacturing or supplier environment in the consumer goods industry.
  • Competent user of computerized IT systems – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other associated scheduling, forecasting software packages
  • 3+ years of experience working within an ERP/MRP environment at an advanced level
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Thorough working knowledge of DRP and MPS processes in a Manufacturing or CM environment
  • End to End Supply Chain Functions and Linkage
  • In depth understanding of capacity management and production control concepts
  • In depth understanding of safety stock levels and other key parameters for Finished Goods and components
  • Production life cycle management
  • Thorough knowledge of TQM methodology, their application and their use towards continuous improvements.
  • In depth understanding of Supplier Management concepts.
