JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Plant and Technical Engineering leads a team of engineers and technical staff responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing filling and assembly processes. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise to drive operational excellence, support new product introductions, and lead capital investment initiatives. The position plays a critical role in ensuring seamless integration of new products into manufacturing, improving process capability, and enhancing plant performance through innovation and continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- You will collaborate with R&D, Packaging, and Quality to define technical requirements for new product launches.
- You will lead the development and validation of filling and assembly processes from concept through production.
- You will create and maintain detailed SOPs, work instructions, and compliance documentation.
- You will establish labor cost standards for new SKUs
- You will maintain master data related to work center plannability for each SKU
- You will partner with New Product Development/Commercialization, Production, and Planning to align on capacity and timing of key launch milestones
- You will drive process optimization initiatives to improve Right First Time (RFT) metrics, reduce rework/scrap, reduce labor cost, and enhance equipment capability.
- You will lead root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- You will study existing equipment/process capability and propose modifications or investments to improve performance
- You will manage the initiation, execution, and closeout of capital projects to enhance plant capability and capacity.
- You will lead equipment vendor selection process through development of URS, bidding, quotation evaluation, and purchase order delivery
- You will partner with selected equipment vendors to ensure timeliness of machine build
- You will conduct FAT at supplier site, installation upon machine delivery, and IQOQ to validate for Production
- You will develop project feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and capital plans.
- You will track project lifecycle and ensure alignment with business goals and timelines.
- You will lead, coach, and mentor a team of engineers to build technical capability and foster a high-performance culture.
- You will provide technical direction and support to project engineers and contractors.
- You will promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous learning.
- You will partner with Production, Bulk Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality and Facilities to identify and implement process improvements.
- You will partner with New Product Development/Commercialization, Packaging, R&D, and Quality to enable successful, on-time launches
- You will ensure alignment between facility, equipment, product, and process requirements.
- You will support start-up and scale-up of new equipment and technologies.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field); Master’s preferred.
- You have 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering, preferably in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or consumer goods.
- You have 3+ years of experience in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
- You have a Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
- Proven track record in process development, validation, and continuous improvement.
- Strong project management skills with experience in capital project execution.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at all levels.

The base pay for this position may vary based on geographic location. Actual base pay offered will be based on several factors including job-specific knowledge, education, skills, and depth of experience. In addition to base pay, we may offer additional forms of compensation as components of a total compensation package, including participation in our bonus program which features the ability to overachieve, in addition to a full range of competitive benefits.
