JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Manufacturing, is responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations, including providing leadership to supervisors and direct labor employees and maintaining short- and long-term batch schedules. This role ensures effective execution of the manufacturing schedule, adherence to established procedures, compliance with safety requirements, and timely communication and coordination with cross-functional departments.

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

• You will ensure employees are properly trained in safety and quality requirements
• You will ensure compliance with Company safety policies and procedures, as well as applicable Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements.
• You will work in partnership with the Bulk Planner to prepare the manufacturing schedule.
• You will ensure trial and launch batches are appropriately scheduled to meet project timelines.
• You will execute the manufacturing schedule while ensuring the most efficient use of resources.
• You will investigate batch upsets or nonconformances and prepare a formal report.
• You will implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize defects, product contamination, and material or component mix-ups.
• You will establish a regular meeting cadence with maintenance to discuss preventive maintenance schedules, equipment breakdowns, and corrective actions to improve equipment uptime.
• You will ensure all incidents, near misses, and safety concerns are reported immediately and addressed appropriately.
• You will monitor adherence to the manufacturing schedule and communicate delays that may extend a run beyond the scheduled completion date.
• You will identify process improvement opportunities and implement prioritized improvements based on business needs.
• You will administer employee corrective actions when appropriate and in accordance with Company policies.
• You will oversee the scale up and scale down of batches to meet business demand.
• You will contribute to capital investment decisions and support factory acceptance testing (FAT) of equipment.
• You will lead the partnership with NPC to ensure launches are completed on time, in full, and in accordance with quality requirements.
• You will partner with AIC to obtain technical support for new products and technologies.

WHO YOU ARE 

• You have a four-year degree in physical science, engineering, or a related field

• You have at least five years of experience supervising or managing batch manufacturing operations within the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, chemical, or a related industry.
• You have a working knowledge of cosmetic formulations and manufacturing equipment operation.
• You are trained and experienced in current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
• You possess excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• You demonstrate the ability and commitment to effectively lead and develop others.
• You are familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
• You can apply root cause analysis techniques to identify and resolve problems.
