Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer works under general supervision to monitor, document, and improve procedures used in the process and manufacture of the company’s products.  This includes following quality systems and adherence to GMP guidelines.  The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for analysis and modification of existing processes to improve quality and reduce labor costs.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support manufacturing in daily compounding activities and provide analysis and troubleshooting of out of spec results.
  • Modification of existing processes to achieve improved quality while reducing labor costs.
  • Identify and develop new process controls resulting in reduced process variability for a consistent and high-quality outcome.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams as well as outside vendors on new equipment design, IQ/OQ, installation and contractor supervision.
  • Investigate any out of specification results and work with technical, quality, manufacturing and R&D to correct.  Complete a manufacturing investigation report for any non-conformance batch due to a process related issue.

  • Manufacturing Team, Plant Engineering teams and Quality dept

 

Financial Accountability:

  • Management of Capital Projects
  • Following established T&E and capital expenditure policies and procedures

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in process development for cosmetic manufacturing or 3 years similar experience with a degree in Chemical Eng. Or related sciences.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing equipment and its impact on cosmetic products such as emulsification, particle size reduction, dispersion, filtration, heating and cooling, etc.
  • Understanding GMP manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of engineering change control.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations a plus.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and six sigma a plus.
