Summary of role:
We are seeking a Color Technician to ensure bulk cosmetic batches match the shade of reference standards.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Batch shade matching lipstick, foundation, powders and other color cosmetics.
- Ability to multitask in a fast pace manufacturing environment and support multiple batches at the same time.
- Accurate review of batch color history and tracking of daily adjustments is critical
- Maintenance of color standard and renewal upon expiration.
- Ability to make bench batches as necessary to support full scale batch shade matching as well as rework shade investigation
- Communicate with Manufacturing, Quality Control, R&D and customers as necessary.
Working Relationships/Key Stakeholders:
- Manufacturing personnel to coordinate shade adjustments
- Technical Engineers, QA, and QC to investigate out-of-specification bulk batches
- Technical Engineers and Marketing to support shade-matching of bulk trial batches
- Marketing and QC to maintain and document library of reference standards
Qualifications & Competencies:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years cosmetic shade matching experience or 5+ years in related chemical or paint industry
- Ability to see color
- Must be able to work split shift or 2nd shift
- Very strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of basic math
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic understanding of GMP and ISO requirements
- Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize
